Coach Training - BECOME THE BEST YOU CAN BE

Continuous Improvement & Coaching Development

At Hanseatic Soccer Academy we understand that we need the best youth soccer coaches in the city, to offer the best soccer development programs in town. Our entire youth soccer academy has one mission, become the best you can be.
We expect our soccer academy coaches to strive for continuous improvement through the programs we offer, programs offered by the United States Soccer Federation, the German FA - DFB, the Universidade do Futebol, self-study or any other way the modern soccer world has to offer.

Initial Stage

Being a youth soccer coach is a position if responsibility. As NAYS Member Organization, we require all our youth academy coaches to become NAYS members. To become a NAYS Coach, our coaches must participate in a training clinic.

This introductory coaches training consist of 3 essential parts.

In part 1 the coaches get an overview of a coach's role and responsibilities in youth sports.
The topics here include injury prevention, teaching good sportsmanship, building confidence, nutrition and hydration, keeping players active at practice, the role of winning in youth sports, conditioning and stretching, working with parents and youth sports violence.
It is important to us, that all coaches at our youth soccer academy in Houston and elsewhere are aware of psychological and emotional needs of children. We want to make sure that all our soccer academy coaches understand the importance of conditioning, nutrition, flexibility and strength development for a child's youth soccer experience. The coaches at Hanseatic Soccer Academy know that they have a responsibility to teach only proper techniques that are age-appropriate.

Part 2 covers sport specific training. It covers drills, skills and fundamentals of soccer.

Part 3 is the Coaches' Code of Conduct. In this part Coaches must sign the NAYS Code of Ethics for Coaches, and by signing the Coaches' Code of Ethics Pledge, they confirm that they are committed to placing safety and well-being of every child above all else.

In further steps our soccer academy coaches have access to NAYS continuing education trainings covering topics like concussion prevention, bullying awareness, protection against abuse and coaching children with mental health challenges or an advanced level training course, which covers eight key topic areas from teaching and communication to skills and tactics. All this is part of the #HanseaticDifference. But our coaches training and education doesn't end here.

License Requirement

All our Soccer Academy Head Coaches are USSF licensed or hold a license from a UEFA or CONMEBOL member organization. At the Hanseatic Soccer Academy we aim to provide solely well-structured, high quality training programs for systematic development. To ensure this quality standard, we need real teachers of the game that educate our soccer academy players in all facets of the game and beyond. The requirement of a soccer coaching license helps us to realize this high quality standard. Another important part of the #HanseaticDifference .

CPR, First-Aid, AED Requirement

Head Coaches at the Hanseatic Soccer Academy are required to get a CPR, First-Aid and AED certification. We want to make sure that the Coaches of our soccer academy players are prepared for emergency situations. Safety and first-aid care are the most important factors in well-being of children.

In-House Trainings

In addition we hold periodical in-house trainings in which we discuss things like the Hanseatic Soccer Academy Curriculum, which is based on the principles and guidelines of the German FA - DFB, or training concepts and methods that help us to create the 360degree youth soccer development environment that we strive for and many other topics that help us to get better and become the best youth soccer academy in Houston, Texas and beyond. #HanseaticDifference
